The team is a good blend of experienced and new runners. We are excited to see three brilliant females in this years squad and are committed to looking at ways to increase the inclusion, participation and representation from all groups in the coming years.

Team Captain Ian Thomas will be looking for his seventh straight finish (he and James also completed an unofficial 153 mile run during 2020 when the race was not hosted). James Ellis will be looking for his epic sixth finish after his PB in last year’s event.

Al Higgins is back looking for his fourth straight finish. Al finished in fourth place overall in 2019 and definitely has the potential to go all the way.
Andy Day will all be running for the third time and Ali Young, Cam Humphries, Jonni Suckling, Steve Gordon and Mark Bissett all return looking for a second finish.
We are also pleased to announce this year’s sponsors: Ultramarathon Running Store, KOMFuel, Track Trail, Beanie Boat, James Ellis Nutrition,, Camino Ultra and Elevated Food For Life.
The first four offer monetary support – our most valuable supporters without whom we would not be able to provide the uniform image the BST has become famous for over the past years. The latter offer services in kind to help keep the BST going. Please support these companies where you can.
We are still looking for a couple more sponsors – so if you have any leads please contact us via david.bone@caminoultra.com
As we celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Spartathlon we will also look to raise some funds for the British Red Cross. Please do share this link with friends and family – we know how much people like to encourage the runners both leading up and during the race by offering a sponsorship and comments via the fundraising page:

We have plenty more things to share over the coming months – look forward to hearing about the teams training and meeting some runners at various big ultramarathons during the summer.
